The Rape Crisis Intervention/Victims of Violence Program (RCIP/VOVP) of The Long Island College Hospital is the most established and comprehensive program of its kind in Brooklyn, and has been in operation for over 25 years. Services are provided to female and male survivors of crime from the age of 12 and above.
The RCIP/VOVP offers the following provides comprehensive care through the following components:
Survivors are immediately triaged to a private examination room where state-of-the-art forensic equipment is available during the examination of a rape survivor to improve the detection, treatment and documentation of injury. A private shower is available, and survivors can receive new undergarments and transportation home.

Specially trained and Department of Health certified volunteers are on-call to the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide crime victims with crisis intervention, emotional support, information and referral, and advocacy.

Specially trained medical professionals provide expert, sensitive forensic and medical care to survivors of sexual assault and rape.
